Dr. Pramod G. Bagali, a seasoned forensic medical scientist, has performed over 10,000 traditional autopsies in his extensive career. These experiences underscored for him the emotional and physical toll of autopsies, not only on the deceased’s families but also on those conducting these procedures. This awareness led him to a visionary breakthrough: the idea of digital autopsies. Dr. Bagali imagined a way to maintain forensic rigor without compromising the dignity of the deceased, ultimately leading to the development of ForDigiopsy®, a revolutionary no-cut autopsy solution that relies on advanced digital imaging for non-invasive forensic analysis.

An Innovator and Forensic Medicine Specialist
Dr. Bagali's career spans over 32 years of academic and research excellence in forensic medicine and toxicology. With a medical degree from Bangalore University and a specialization in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, he has been an influential figure in forensic science education and practice. His tenure includes distinguished positions as a plenary session lecturer for Forensic Medicine at the International Medical University in Malaysia and a forensic advisor to the Royal Malaysian Police. His service in the Indian Army Medical Services, during which he was awarded five medals for active operations in challenging terrains such as Jammu & Kashmir, further enriched his forensic expertise.

Throughout his career, Dr. Bagali has pushed the boundaries of forensic science by developing innovative technologies. In the private sector, he has held influential roles, including as Chief Medical Officer at iGene and as the CEO & Co-Founder of the Witty Charman Group. These roles have allowed him to pioneer solutions like ForDigiopsy®, a digital autopsy platform that facilitates non-invasive forensic examinations using cutting-edge imaging technology, providing families with closure while preserving the deceased’s dignity.

Dr. Bagali an accomplished Forensic Medicine Doctor graduated from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute has made significant impacts in forensic medicine. His groundbreaking work, published in leading journals and presented internationally, includes contributions such as ForWIMS a workflow integrated management system that enables forensic reporting with an unbroken chain of custody & ForDSS a forensic decision support system. His contribution to innovation in forensic medicine was recognised by the Wall Street Journal and awarded the Asian innovation awards in 2007.
These solutions are redefining standards in forensic pathology and evidence visualization. He also contributed a chapter to "Recent Advances in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology" (2018), highlighting the latest in forensic medicine advancements.
